In general, I don’t believe the research process is a process that one can get through quickly. It takes time to know what you want to do research on, which is something that can even change when least expected (something that had happened to me). It also is important to find good sources that are accurate and peer-reviewed in order to provide the best information possible, which is also something that takes time. The reading of these articles needs to be thorough to understand them and to implement them correctly when writing your paper. I still struggle with being more efficient when it comes to my research because I tend to overthink everything I read and write, and I don’t always feel confident in it; which is something that this research paper helped me practice on bettering. Lastly, editing and revising your writing is crucial to ensure you were able to answer what you’ve questioned since the beginning. I felt like my research definitely helped me answer my question on epilepsy and the effects of its treatment. I’ve come out of this course knowing I still have to grow as a writer, but feeling a lot more confident in myself and my abilities.
